Black-crowned Night-Heron range

The Black-crowned Night Heron is a nocturnal wading bird. During the daylight hours, they can be found roosting in the marshes or perched on a limb of a tree, close to the water's edge. The adults are a bluish-gray, with a black cap and trailing head plumes. The juveniles are streaked with brown. It has been a migrant in Cuba.
