South Polar Skua range

The South Polar Skua is among the larger seabirds of the predator family. This bulky dark brown bird is seen throughout the waters of the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans. It is very similar in appearance to the Great Skua and close observation is needed to determine the correct skua when seeing these seabirds. This seabird predator has been seen in the Caribbean Sea and has been seen off the waters of Cuba.
