The Semipalmated Plover is a plump little shorebird found throughout North America on mudflats and beaches. This plover nests in the northern tundra right to the Arctic Ocean. During the winter months, it is seen on the Atlantic and Pacific coastlines, including the Gulf of Mexico. These plovers migrate south to the warmer tropical countries for the winter months. It has been seen as a migrant in Cuba.
