Red Knot range

The Red Knot is a shorebird and it is known for it dark reddish-brown plumage. This knot is on the endangered list, steps are being taken to protect its food supply on its spring and fall migration paths. Certain areas on the Atlantic coast are setting up protection of crabs, as it is the eggs of these crabs that the knots feed on. This knot migrates into South America for the winter months and it has been seen as a migrant in Cuba
