Red-breasted Merganser range

The Red-breasted Merganser is one of the more colourful waterbirds seen, especially the male when it is in breeding plumage with its punk rock looking crown feathers sticking straight up and being blown about in the breeze. This merganser is more likely to be found in the sea during the winter months. It has been seen as a migrant in Cuba.
